Don't MESS with my coupons!

Three weeks ago I requested a coupon book from "Home Made Simple" which included over $30 worth of coupons for household brands including Swiffer, Cascade, Mr. Clean, Febreeze, Dawn and others (Request yours at http://www.startsampling.com/). I waited for it to arrive with great anticipation. (I'm planning to buy a Swiffer vac, and I'm letting the dirt collect on my floor to give it an accurate trial when it arrives...) I was excited to find it waiting in my mailbox last Thursday, but my excitement turned to dismay when I observed that both seals had been broken and all the inside pages of the booklet ripped out, leaving only one 75cent coupon for Mr. Clean. "N0. Way." They only send one of those to each household--I can't just request another one! I looked on the website, and there doesn't appear to be a way to report not receiving your copy. I immediately called my mom to ask if she'd received her booklet, because we requested them on the same day. Lo and behold, her copy had suffered the same fate. Now, we both live in the same neighborhood, and our mailboxes are not curbside but rather centrally located locked boxes. I drove to the post office and told them I needed to report some stolen mail. I brought my sad, torn booklet with me. The postmaster came out to receive the report. After all, this is not just about a few stolen coupons: who knows what else I haven't received? And my private information is included in much of my mail, such as credit card statements and bank statements. What if those are tampered with? Apparently, the Post Office has an agent assigned to investigate such reports, and he is going to speak to me on Monday.
This all goes to show that if you want to see me get angry, just try to MESS with MY COUPONS!! :)

Target Tip

Ever since I became addicted to strategic couponing, I have been going through inkjet cartridges so quickly it makes me wonder--am I really saving money with these printable coupons? So I was happy to learn that I can print Target coupons right in the store. Just go to their registry list computers and click on Target.com. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Grocery Coupons." Select the coupons you want, and then click "print." The computer prints them on the same paper that it prints registry sheets. While most of my coupon printing is still done at www.smartsource.com or www.coupons.com, every little bit helps. Don't forget that Publix will accept SuperTarget coupons, and you can stack them with manufacturing coupons!

Winn-Dixie: Getting Bitter All the Time

I am VERY unhappy with Winn-Dixie today. Prepare to hear me vent!
They informed me today that they no longer accept internet coupons unless they say "Winn-Dixie" on them! On my order today, that meant $5 worth of coupons they refused to take! These coupons were from Kraft.com and clearly marked "Kraft"--nothing sketchy there! They told me they had to stop taking the coupons because they weren't being paid for some of them. Well, they won't be paid for anything by me anymore!

WHY should I shop at Winn-Dixie, when Publix will accept all my coupons INCLUDING those from competitors like Winn-Dixie? I was only there because I had a $10 Winn-Dixie coupon on an order of $100 or more. Next time I'll take it to Publix!

Walgreens Paid Me

I had a record trip to Walgreens this week: I spent 55 cents and left with $13 in Register Rewards! Oddly enough, my biggest bargain was... a diabetes testing kit. No, I don't have diabetes. However, I did have a coupon to get free a Bayer diabetes testing kit. This week at Walgreens when you buy one, you get $10 in Register Rewards. So, when I used my coupon, I spent no money out of pocket and got $10 RR! I recently found out that Publix will accept Register Rewards as they do all competitors' coupons. I'm going to try it at my local Publix this week.
I also purchased the following at Walgreens:

Ecotrin, $2 - $2 coupon from newspaper= free, plus get $2 in RR

Dentipik flossers, B1G1 - 2 printable $1 coupons

Chinet, 2 for $3.00 - coupon

Aquafresh toothpaste, $.99- $.75 printable coupon

Domino Sugar, $2.99 with coupon in circular, - $.35 coupon

Lindsay olives, $.99 with coupon in circular - $1.00 printable coupon

Bic Soleil disposable razors, $3.99-$3.00 coupon from newspaper= $.99
